In Doha, the Qatar National Museum which traces the history of the country over the past 7,000 years has open its doors in March 2019. This museum, designed by the architect Jean Nouvel, became the first national museum in the world to receive both LEED Gold and 4-star GSAS (Global Sustainability Assessment System) sustainability rating. The 40,000 m² building represents an impressive sand rose whose 539 "petals" are made up of thousands of intertwined concrete discs. Several Saint-Gobain solutions have been chosen to meet this architectural challenge. Weber supplied 900 tonnes of ready-mixed mortars and Kimmco-ISOVER 150,000 m² of glass wool to insulate the building and its air conditioning, ventilation and water supply systems.
