Key contribution

By providing a recycling service in over 14 countries worldwide, GYPROC can co-develop a waste management plan encouraging the diversion of gypsum based waste away from landfills.

Aim

To reduce construction and demolition waste disposed of in landfills and incineration facilities by recovering, reusing, and recycling materials.

Detailed requirement

Develop and implement a construction and demolition waste management plan:

  • Establish waste diversion goals for the project by identifying at least five materials (both structural and nonstructural) targeted for diversion. Approximate a percentage of the overall project waste that these materials represent.
  • Specify whether materials will be separated or commingled and describe the diversion strategies planned for the project. Describe where the materials will be taken and how the recycling facility will process the material.

Provide a final report detailing all major waste streams generated, including disposal and diversion rates.

Our contribution

Gypsum is 100% and infinitely recyclable. Recycling services are offered in over 14 countries within our Activity allowing customers to sort, collect and recycle all gypsum-based waste from the jobsite (construction, renovation and deconstruction).

Plasterboard solutions are designed for deconstruction, are easy to dismantle and move, and have a high level of separability from the building structure or envelope. These factors increase the likelihood of them being sorted into recyclable dedicated streams.

Additionally, we contribute to reducing waste on jobsites by supplying custom sizes of plasterboards and metal for construction. All our metal profiles are recyclable using an established recycling process.
