See below how Gypsum Ceilings by Gyproc can contribute to LEED criteria: Acoustic performance
Key contribution
GYPROC solutions for plasterboard and ceilings provide sound insulation and acoustic absorption for optimal interior ambiance.
Aim
To provide workspace that promotes occupant’s well-being, productivity, and communication through effective acoustic design.
Detailed requirement
For all occupied spaces, the project has to meet specific requirements for:
- Heating, ventilating and airconditioning (HVAC) background noise
- Sound isolation
- Reverberation time
- Sound reinforcement and masking

Our contribution
Gyproc offers plasterboard and ceiling solutions for sound insulation acoustic absorption.
- Lightweight partition and ceiling systems can be specified to improve the sound insulation properties between adjacent areas within the same property or adjacent properties of different occupancy. In addition to providing sound insulation, our products and systems can be designed to help reduce impact-borne noise transmission between floors. A drywall system can achieve sound insulation from 35 to 80 dB (Rw).
- The acoustic absorption performance will improve sound absorption within a room, resulting in a much better quality of sound within the area concerned due to less reverberation off “hard” surfaces. Our solutions are designed to provide sound absorption and sound reflection where required to give optimum ambiance in the space.
