See below how Fire resistant & High security glass for facades by Vetrotech can contribute to LEED criteria: Minimum energy performance
Key contribution
When it comes to energy efficiency, all Vetrotech products can be combined with multi-comfort features, providing a series of functions contributing to the improvement of the energy performance of buildings. Available in double or triple glazing, incorporating solar control and/or low-emissivity coatings, our products comply with the most demanding energy standards and regulations.
Aim
To reduce the environmental and economic harms of excessive energy use by achieving a minimum level of energy efficiency for the building and its systems.
Detailed requirement
Option 1 “Whole-building energy simulation”:
Demonstrate a 5% improvement (for new construction) in the proposed building performance rating compared with the baseline building performance rating (using ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1–2010 to make the simulation). A USGBC-approved equivalent standard for projects outside the U.S. may be used.
Option 2 “Prescriptive compliance”: ASHRAE 50% Advanced Energy Design Guide
Comply with the mandatory and prescriptive provisions of ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1–2010, with errata (or a USGBC-approved equivalent standard for projects outside the U.S.).
Option 3 “Prescriptive compliance”: Advanced BuildingsTM Core PerformanceTM Guide
Comply with the mandatory and prescriptive provisions of ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2010, with errata (or USGBC approved equivalent standard for projects outside the U.S.).

Our contribution
The ideal glass is one that permits the greatest amount of natural light to enter a building while reducing over-heating by solar heat gain. When considering whole building energy efficiency and performance, Vetrotech glass can contribute to minimizing solar heat gain and reducing the load on your air-conditioning systems. All Vetrotech solutions have options for low-E coated glass, which helps reflect energy and insulate the interior of the building.
To maximize daylight and views to the outside and to optimize building occupants’ comfort, all the IGU (Insulating Glass Unit), DGU (Double Glazed Unit) and TGU (Triple Glazed Unit) high protection solutions, can deliver thermal insulations performances too. These solutions limit heat transfers through the glass inside/outside and insulate the interior of the building, avoiding heat loss.
Vetrotech solutions can easily be assembled as an insulating glass with a glass product from the COOL-LITE range (such as COOL-LITE XTREME 70/33 II), or can be mounted with integrated blinds, CLIMAPLUS SCREEN, to add privacy control. Such energy efficient solutions help to decrease a building’s cooling loads thanks to lower solar heat gains (low g-value). Vetrotech solutions can be assembled as insulating glass, with a glass product from the PLANITHERM range. Such coated glass products help to reduce heating needs by minimizing heat loss (low Ug value), while allowing visible natural light.
Vetrotech IGU and TGU products enable high-density areas to comply with strict fire codes and high security expectations, while at the same time contributing to the energy efficiency of the building.
