See below how Design glass solutions by Saint-Gobain can contribute to LEED V4.0 criteria: Acoustic Performance.
Key contribution
To create comfortable and related space, Saint-Gobain Glass offers a range of high performing solutions made from sustainable materials that can reduce internal noise by up to 50 db.
Aim
To provide workspace that promotes occupant’s well-being, productivity, and communication through effective acoustic design.
Detailed requirement
For all occupied spaces, the project has to meet specific requirements for:
- Heating, ventilating and airconditioning (HVAC) background noise
- Sound isolation
- Reverberation time
- Sound reinforcement and masking

Our contribution
In terms of acoustic performance, the parameter to be considered for glass is weighted noise reduction, called Rw. With our solutions, we are able to reduce noise by up to 50 dB in a double layer construction.
STADIP SILENCE, a soundproof laminated glass with built-in acoustic film, which can be used for internal partitions, is a case in point. For doors and partitions, CLIP-IN SILENCE, a system of modular glazed partitions, ensures an acoustic performance of up to 48 dB.
