Limiting solar gain, which means there is less need for additional protection such as shutters, blinds or curtains. Saint-Gobain glazing can provide large glazed areas with high light transmission allowing occupants to access daylight and outside view.

To promote the optimization of the natural lighting, through the identification of focal points, the ratio of translucent and glare-sensitive areas.

Detailed requirement

Having access to daylight and outdoor views in sensitive spaces, to a minimum level of natural lighting, but also to a qualitative natural light treatment.

Our contribution

Our glazing material contributes the most to visual comfort. Indeed, it allows natural light to enter the building without being dazzled.

Prefers daylight and gives access to outdoor views:

Saint-Gobain offers a wide range of increasingly transparent glazing, such as DIAMANT glazing with a light transmission of 91% or insulating glazing solutions with a light transmission up to 83% (ECLAZ in double glazing).

In addition to that, it enables you to increase the glass surface thanks to the system that makes it possible to reduce structural requirements, such as the SPIDER SYSTEM SGG POINT S and SGG POINT X system or the STADIPBUILDER glazing (a reinforced laminated glass).

Saint-Gobain solutions have been offering 18 x 3.21m glazing since 2018 to provide greater access to natural light.

Control glare

For some façades, it is essential to control glare and therefore favour glazing with solar control (i.e. the one that contains lower g value such as COOL-LITE XTREME 70/33). This choice is particularly suitable for the east and west facades when the sun is low. Furthermore, each glaze has its own glare tolerance - this is the reason why the complete CLIMAPLUS SCREEN system has been designed. And it is double glazing that integrates a mobile blind, allowing the user to control his visual environment.

Saint-Gobain has a wide range of products that can be used for any type of building, from a glass roof of a warehouse to an insulated glass façade of a commercial building. Thanks to digital simulation tools such as CalumenLive, which makes it possible to define the most appropriate choice as per the outdoor conditions of the building and customer preferences, depending on whether they need solar control or light transmission.
