See below how SageGlass by Saint-Gobain can contribute to HQE criterion: Choosing construction products in order to limit the environmental impact of the building.
Key contribution
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) describes the environmental impact of SageGlass, allowing us to determine the building impact as a whole and make the most relevant material choices.
Aim
To assess and take into account environment impacts, in accordance with European standard prEN 15804 or international standard ISO 21930, in the choice of construction products.
Detailed requirement
Determining the environmental impact of the construction products, choosing construction products to limit the environmental impact of the building, using materials and products enabling the least polluting site procurement in terms of CO2, implementing materials and products enabling CO2 to be trapped.
Our contribution
- 2.3.1. Determine the environmental impact of construction products
- 2.3.2. Choose construction products to limit the environmental impact of the building
In compliance with the Saint-Gobain group's strong environmental commitment, a SageGlass Life Cycle Assessment was conducted in 2015, and its environmental characteristics can be found in the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) under EN 15804.
Life Cycle Assessment is used to measure and improve SageGlass' environmental impacts as part of the Saint-Gobain Group's Eco-Innovation approach. The final objective is to contribute to reducing the overall building impact.
Additionally, SageGlass replaces blinds and shades and does not increase the environmental impact of the building resulting from the production, transport, and installation of the glass.
