At ISOVER, raw materials are under an Environmental Management System in order to encourage responsible sourcing and to promote green building.
To recognize and encourage the use of thermal insulation which has been responsibly sourced.
At least 80% (by volume) of the thermal insulation used in the assessed building elements (external walls, ground floor, roof and building services) must be responsibly sourced.
Learn more about Insulation
ISOVER has developed a broad range of products based on a multi-material approach for different applications, for example, external walls, ground floors, roof, and building services.
Saint-Gobain ISOVER creates efficient thermal and acoustic insulation solutions to design energy efficient constructions, to provide safety and comfort for users and to help protect the environment. This could bring an additional contribution to the MAT 04 Insulation criterion. Furthermore, ISOVER provides Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), which can increase the contribution to this criterion.
The (certified) Environmental Management System (EMS) of ISOVER can contribute to achieving the 80% by volume of the thermal insulation requirement. Indeed:
- 90% of ISOVER mineral wool plants have been certified ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) by an independent third party; and
- Most Isover raw material suppliers are certified ISO 14001, asit is our policy to encourage the sourcing of raw materials extracted or made in sites to be certified ISO 14001 (or the equivalent).
As for recycled content, the values for ISOVER glass wool are globally more than 50% in the pre- and post-consumer waste stream. This could increase to 80% in some parts of the world. Recycled content certificates can be provided on demand; please refer to your local team.
