In order to ensure good practice around the use of sustainable building materials, Saint-Gobain requires a thorough process of having a signed charter, evaluation and social audit done of its suppliers. Suppliers are held responsible and required to sign a charter for more than 80% of purchases not linked to trade. A responsible purchasing policy is enforced and, if required, an on-site supplier audit is performed in instances where risks are identified.
