Key contribution

A comfortable interior environment is achieved with GYPROC’s plasterboard and ceiling solutions, providing acoustic absorption and sound insulation, along with optimized energy efficiency.

Aim

To ensure the building's acoustic performance, including sound insulation meets the appropriate standards for its purpose.

Requirement summary

All unoccupied spaces must comply with defined indoor ambient noise level (either national regulation, or good practice standards, or BREEAM levels). The ambient noise is measured on site by a suitably qualified acoustician to ensure that the relevant spaces achieve the required levels. The sound insulation between “acoustically sensitive rooms” (offices, meeting rooms, rooms used for public speaking or seminars …) and other occupied areas comply with the privacy index.

For rooms/areas used for speech, a reverberation time level has to be respected

Our contribution

GYPROC offers plasterboard and ceiling solutions for acoustic insulation and absorption.

  • Acoustic insulation helps reduce the passage of sound from one area to another. Our products and systems can be designed to reduce structure borne noise or impact sound between floors.
  • The acoustic absorption performance improves sound absorption within a room, resulting in improved sound quality within the area concerned due to less reverberation off ‘hard’ surfaces, an ideal environment for learning, seminars, and music events.
